Process: Francois Morelli #1

Watercolour of hooded figure with stick in his mouth

The first days were spent walking the snowed in roads, breaking off and opening paths into the brush. The stillness and silence was punctuated by the howling sled dogs and the thundering logging trucks. I began cutting and collecting saplings, dragging them back to the shed. Slowly I spun, wove and wired them into three oblong cylinders. Attached, they would replicate a tree log similar to those stacked and trucked 24/7.
